By 2030, the UK plans to produce enough wind energy to power every British home. At bp, we’re all in. It’s a bold target that’s key to energy security and cutting emissions. We plan to invest billions to build three offshore wind installations in the North Sea and Irish Sea. Together they could provide enough clean power for more than 6 million homes. Today, most of the energy we produce is oil and gas. But as we and the UK transition towards net zero that will change. This decade we plan to increase to 50% our capital expenditure on our transition businesses globally, and reduce oil and gas production by around 40%.
