I COULD JUST DO WITH A SNOOZE...
As I type this, I’m just recovering from the National Garden Railway Show weekend. My legs still hurt a bit and, to be honest, I could do with more sleep. However, it’s all worth it for the reactions to our latest ‘Layout in a day’. Although it existed for little more than seven and a half hours, I’ll admit to being really pleased with the way our tiny display turned out.
Having built the model on Friday afternoon, Saturday was spent chatting with visitors to the show. Our stand, just inside the entrance, meant that people quickly found us, and everyone seemed to want to say hello. Thanks to all who stopped by, and I’m sorry I didn’t get the chance to roam around the hall catching up with more layout owners and traders. If you follow us on social media, you might have seen some selfies taken in front of the layout by members of the public, especially those with kids. As well as bringing the garden to the garden rail show, we’re trying to fill the internet with positive large scale railways.
Talking of photos, I’m looking at 2023 and could do with a few more feature layouts. If you fancy seeing your line on our pages, send me an e-mail with a couple of photos (phil.parker@warnersgroup.co.uk) and we’ll see what we can do. All sorts of layouts are required, so if you are proud of yours – show it off to the rest of us. If I can inspire with a three-metre plot and battery trains, I’m sure you can do better!
