We test every recipe until we think it is perfect. Recipes created for advertisement features are checked by our food team but not tested. Weights and measures We list base measurements for tins, pans and dishes. We use level measuring spoons; a teaspoon is 5ml; a dessertspoon is 10ml; a tablespoon is 15ml. Ingredients We aim to use ingredients that are available in at least 250 Sainsbury’s stores nationwide. Stocks vary from store to store; use the online stock checker at help.sainsburys.co.uk/help/ stockchecker to see if a particular product is available in your local store or call the Careline on 0800 636262. Food safety Public health advice is to avoid raw or lightly cooked eggs if you are vulnerable to infection, including pregnant women, babies and the elderly. Nutrition Our nutritional values are per serving (if a recipe serves, say, 4-6, the values are based on 1 of 4 servings – that is, the larger portion size); if an ingredient has an alternative listed, values are based on the first option; optional or ‘serve with’ suggestions are not included. Vegetarian Vegetarian recipes are indicated with the V symbol, but they may use cheeses that contain animal rennet*, or suggest substitutes.
