For example, how might our future homes balance connectivity, mental wellbeing and privacy? How can we transform the home into a site of healing? And how can the design, layout or features of our homes encourage multigenerational care practices?
Ultimately, notions of health, care and happiness are guiding principles for how many of us want to live. It’s now up to us – creatives, architects, designers – to integrate health into everything we do. As Serina Tarkhanian, a designer and researcher we interviewed for the Healthy Home report, states: ‘The shifting role of the designer is to become a care practitioner in their own right.’
