Jean-Michel Jarre is a pioneering electronic musician whose back catalogue has, understandably, adopted legendary status. 1976 album Oxygène is a landmark release, but here he focusses on new album Oxymoreworks. Jarre’s twenty-second album Oxymore gets revisited with the help of Brian Eno, Martin Gore, Armin Van Buuren and Nina Kraviz. Stewart Copeland established himself as the powerhouse drummer behind The Police in the 1970s. In our exclusive interview, he discusses revisiting the Police catalogue as well as the work he’s produced wearing his composer’s hat. Hugh Cornwell steps in to touch on his past with The Stranglers as well as new album Moments Of Madness and getting ready to tour again. The Liverpool music scene served up some of the most memorable bands of the late 70s and early 80s. Paul Simpson was a figure who observed the highs and the lows of the era. In his new memoir Revolutionary Spirit, he delivers a very personal story of his journey from childhood through The Teardrop Explodes and rock god status in the Philippines with The Wild Swans. We also chat with Sal Solo as Classix Nouveaux return with a new album. We review their new release alongside albums from Duran Duran, Future Islands, X-Ray Spex and The Blow Monkeys. Check out our features on classic albums from ABC, Roxy Music and The The. Plus live reports from Heaven 17, China Crisis, Holly Johnson and Sheila Rock’s book launch event. All this, plus the regular Blitzed columns and features!
