Contributors Greg Funnell Greg Funnell has spent the past 20 years travelling and photographing stories that appeal to his sense of adventure. He’s drawn to human stories of endurance and lives lived on the edge. He is based in south London with his young family and is a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society. Greg was in Jeddah to capture the atmosphere at the inaugural race of an ambitious electric powerboat racing series. See page 98 Barbara Gibson Polish-born, Birmingham-based illustrator Barbara Gibson often uses vintage magazines to create socially engaged collages applied in a humorous way. Her work has been exhibited and auctioned internationally. For this issue, Barbara has provided the artwork for our profile of Dmitry Rybolovlev. See page 52 Ben Lewis Ben Lewis is an author, podcaster and documentary film-maker, known for his investigations of the art world. His most recent book is The Last Leonardo, about the world’s most expensive painting. He is writing a biography of legendary Sienese forger Icilio Federico Joni and working on a podcast series a bout the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC Turn to page 52 for Ben’s in-depth profile of Russian billionaire and art collector Dmitry Rybolovlev Aisha Alli Aisha Alli is a manager in the Spear’s research team. She also looks after Spear’s social media accounts and contributes to coverage of the Middle East. She joined Spear’s after graduating from the University of St Andrews with a first-class degree in politics and Arabic. On page 62 Aisha chronicles her visit to the newly open-forbusiness Necker Island, where she interviewed Richard Branson Diego Abreu Brazilian illustrator Diego Abreu uses a wide variety of techniques for his colourful artworks, which range from contemporary hero pieces to classical portraiture and even fantasy illustrations. His influences include Rembrandt, Rubens and Caravaggio, plus contemporary artists such as Sattu Rodrigues, Adhemas Batista and Greg Rutkowski. Diego has created our cover artwork, which also features on page 44 in our story about Bernard Arnault’s succesion dilemma
