70 SUMMER 2024 CollectionsTen new collections that deserve some attention, designed by companies located globally from Milan to Karachi 02 Natural materials and textures are having their day in interior design. Perfectly timed and pitched for this trend is the new Rugged collection by Alessandro Pasinelli Studio for Alberto Levi, whose Milan gallery exhibited the collection during Milan Design Week. For Pasinelli, jute was the material of choice and it was celebrated in the exhibition with beautiful bundles of the fibre shown throughout. The many rugs on display showed jute at its finest, as a rustic but sophisticated material for floorcoverings. Added to this the warm colours and refined tones make these rugs something irresistable for the interior designers of today. Pasinelli’s creative journey is rooted in textile art and fashion, while Alberto Levi’s gallery has a passion for ‘elaborate minimalism’. I S SUE 71 01 Battilossi x STORAGEMILANO Shared enthusiasm for research led to the creation of a rug collection all about differing textures 02 02 For FuoriSalone in Milan, the Battilossi Texture Library on Via dell’Orso housed a dramatic installation featuring the Ge-Technique collection designed by STORAGEMILANO. Well-known for its innovative textures and weaves techniques, the Battilossi brand worked with STORAGEMILANO to create the four designs of the collection, Ray, Ruler, Overlap and Celsius. Through a shared passion for research, the two brands explore how mark and line can be expressed di erently through di erent weaves in Ghazni and Tibetan wool, woven in Nepal and Pakistan. In the darkened space of the Texture Library, the bright hues of the rugs shone out while the textures intrigued. www.battilossi.com 03 01, 02 Ray, Ge- 01, 02 Ray, GeTechnique collection Storage Milano x Battilossi 03 Overlap, GeTechnique collection Storage Milano x Battilossi
