WELCOME A A + W / s t o c k . a d o b e . c o m HELLO This summer is barely with us, but believe it or not, campervan manufacturers have already starting unveiling their new models for next year. In the last few weeks I’ve travelled to Germany and Slovenia to see new 2025 campervans from Westfalia, Knaus, Adria and Sun Living. The launch parts of the trips were great and you’ll be able to read all about what the brands have in store on outandaboutlive.co.uk and in upcoming issues of the mag. But the journeys reminded me that the more I travel by plane, the more difficult and demanding it seems to become. I moaned about this last year – so at least I’m consistent! – and apart from a few delays, this year’s trips have actually been relatively trouble-free. But it is still a stressful experience – setting off from home in the early hours of the morning, getting parked, battling through security, then sitting for hours in a soulless departure lounge. Then it all gets repeated on the way home! Now, don’t worry, I’m not looking for sympathy, I know this is very much a First World problem. But when it comes to holidays, it makes me wonder why we still choose to put ourselves through the hassle of airline travel, when there are far more stress-free alternatives available. Really, it’s no wonder more and more people spend their precious holiday and leisure time campervanning, either at home or abroad. The only question is, why wouldn’t you? Happy campervanning!
