When looking back at the foundational work and the earliest marketing materials for LEGO Star Wars, it is clear that the LEGO Group and Lucasfilm were leaning into this being something more than just another Star Wars product. Even if you follow the instructions and don’t build your own original models, this particular collaboration introduced an extra layer of tangible creativity that you don’t get with other Star Wars memorabilia.
That special combination of the imaginative galaxy far, far away with the infinite possibilities of the LEGO brick, conveyed so enthusiastically 25 years ago, is at the heart of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy. For this month’s magazine, Blocks has been given unique access to the creatives behind the project; the writers, the model designers, the producers and the voice of Jedi Bob discuss the project in incredible detail.
Bobby Moynihan, who is indeed performing his namesake, is indicative of how much the talent behind this animated special understand the fandom. For every single recording session, Bobby had an original Jedi Bob minifigure with him. Just like everyone else involved with Rebuild the Galaxy, he gets it.
Each of the Quick Builds this month are inspired by Rebuild the Galaxy and while we’d love to see you follow the instructions and build them, we’d also love to see what the new special inspires you to build from scratch. Be sure to get in touch with your creations.
There are plenty of other wonderful worlds to explore within the LEGO brick though, including the original fictional realm – Castle. In this month’s build project, Daniel Konstanski demonstrates that 10332 Medieval Town Square is just the beginning. There is so much more to be done with this nostalgia-tinged set that can truly expand your world of knights and dragons.
As for the other fictional setting that everyone wishes they could live in, Reviews covers the new Harry Potter sets that take the theme in intriguing directions. Whether you want to construct your own Hogwarts, build fantastic beasts or get the Durmstrangs seaworthy, you can find out which sets we rate and which we don’t.
Separating these different worlds is all very passe though… LEGO Fortnite has brought it all together, incorporating Fortnite itself, Star Wars, Castle and Pirates. At surface level, it seems entirely novel to mix everything together in this way – but in actuality, isn’t it just a fresh interpretation of the brick bucket? Anything can be combined, because it’s all part of the same System. Let’s rebuild the galaxy.

What we’ve been building…
Daniel has continued to expand his awe-inspiring Hogwarts Castle display, which he took to BrickFair Chantilly 2024. Unsurprisingly, the enormous, sprawling layout wowed attendees at the show.
An opportunity to construct a little spaceship was enough to distract Graham from his shopping at the LEGO Store, where he put together what could generously be described as a rather unorthodox rocket.
The box to 10337 Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole didn’t stay sealed for long, as Phil got to work putting the striking car together. By the time you read this he’ll be playing with the scissor doors.
For this month’s Reviews section, Anthony tackled 76435 Hogwarts Castle: The Great Hall, the set that sits at the heart of a new modular depiction of the enormous school. His table stayed that tidy for a few bags.
