In this issue of Welcome After the excitement of seeing the latest models at Caravan Salon Düsseldorf, it feels like the Motorhome & Caravan Show at the NEC, Birmingham, is just around the corner − both in time and location! Of course, if you weren’t lucky enough to pop over to Germany, this is the first chance most folk get to inspect the new-season ’vans. Not only that, but this year you’ll get to see the facelifted Sevel base vehicles (Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Relay/Jumper) that underpin so many popular motorhomes. And in the campervan sector, it’ll be your first opportunity to compare conversions on the all-new Ford Transit Custom. We’ll be there, of course, judging the Motorhome Awards and Campervan Awards for 2025, which will no doubt be as hard-fought as ever. In the meantime, the motorhome industry seems to be faced with some overstocking at dealers, resulting in discounts on remaining 2024-season models. Just remember that it’s more important to buy the right ’van for your needs from a local dealer who’ll be there for your servicing and warranty needs, rather than haggling a great deal. It’s all too easy at the NEC to find that you’ve bought your shiny new motorhome from a retailer at the opposite end of the country.
