OFF TO THE SHOW
Our main layout this month is Dixon Green and Sead-y-Parc, a fantastic 16mm scale line that can be assembled by its builders from the 16mm Association Yorkshire Group into several different forms.
Taking a large-scale layout to shows is always going to be a challenge. We need more space than the average N gauge empire! But with some clever planning, the group have joined others out on the exhibition circuit and proved to be a great success with the visiting public.

And the good news is that the model will be appearing at the National Festival of Railway Modelling at the NEC in November – full details of which can be found on page 13 of this issue. Although mainly a small-scale show, we feel it’s important to expose the rest of the hobby to the ‘large side’ so they can see how much fun we have.

It won’t be the only 16mm layout either. ‘A ll change at Chirk’ will also be there. Some of you might remember this Glyn Vally Tramway model from the Llangollen show a couple of years ago. Well, it’s continued to develop, just like the prototype that the team is restoring, and the latest efforts can be seen at the NEC.
All change at Chirk.
You can find both layouts and Garden Railway Specialists in the Garden Rail Zone at the show. I’ll be on the World of Railways stand, so see you there! Phil Parker, Editor
