Make a… winter scene decoration Step 1 WORK using two strands of strandedcottonorsilverthreadfor the cross stitch, and one strand of strandedcottonorsilverthreadfor thebackstitch.TheFrenchknotsare stitched using one strand of strandedcotton. Step 2 SEW the sequins and the beads in the position shown on the chart, using whitestrandedcotton. Step 3 DOWNLOAD andprintoutyour frame (see tip). Note that you will have afrontandbacktoyourcardboard frame, both are printed on one side. Cut your stitching into a circle very slightlysmallerthanthecardboard back.Attachstickypadsaroundthe outer edge, on the inside of the cardboard back – this will not only secure the stitching, but will also raise the edges of the stitching very slightly, giving it a concave effect. Place the stitching on the sticky pads and press firmly in place – make sure the printed Christmas tree on the reverse side is the right way up. Step 4 ATTACH a double layer of sticky pads on the reverse side of the cardboard front. As the front is not very wide in places,takecarethepadscannotbe seen from the front. Place the pads on topofoneanotherandspacethem equallyaroundthecircle. Step 5 ATTACH the front to the back, sandwichingthestitchingbetween, using the pads to stick the layers together.ThreadalengthofBaker’s twinethroughtheholeatthetopand tie in a knot.
