Sony Classical Releases HUMAN UNIVERSE Debut Album by Hayato Sumino HUMAN UNIVERSE Sony Classical releases the debut recording ‘Human Universe’ by outstanding young New York-based Japanese pianist and composer, Hayato Sumino (aka ‘Cateen’). This eclectic and ambitious debut recording includes works by Bach, Chopin, Debussy, Fauré, Purcell, Ravel and iconic film composers such as Ryuichi Sakamoto and Hans Zimmer, alongside works by Sumino himself. “My original idea was always to reflect on the ancient concept of the universe, going back to the old correlations between art and science. The ancient Greeks believed that celestial bodies in the universe emitted sound and that the entire universe created harmony and music, the so-called ‘Music of the Spheres’. I love this concept and it’s very close to my own aesthetics in music which makes it all the more special for me to share this music now with listeners everywhere”.
