She’s a mother of two daughters born at home. “Life is the greatest adventure. At any given moment we may be surprised or challenged and are constantly making the best decisions we can with the information we have. I am always trying to remind myself to honour the pauses in life and when adventuring, as rest is as important in labour as it is in life. Don't forget to take in the view.” Read Andrea’s article on birth as an adventure on page 21.  MARIE GENTLES As a behaviour expert and mindset coach, Marie has received an OBE for recognition of her services. This mum of two has filmed two TV documentary series and published a bestselling book. "I bring adventure to my daily life by remaining present in each new moment as often as I can; and as much as I can, not worrying about the past or fearing the future. To me adventure is in the smaller, often overlooked things in life that we may sometimes take for granted." Discover Marie’s advice on understanding behaviour and letting go of guilt on page 15.  BEX BAND Author, founder of Love Her Wild and lover of all things adventure and conservation, Bex is a mum of one. “My life now might be full of exciting expeditions, but it wasn’t always this way. I had an un-outdoorsy upbringing with a lot of struggles. In my 20s on a whim, I went on my first big adventure hiking 1000km the length of Israel. I’ve since kayaked the width of the UK against plastic pollution and kick-scooted (yep!) the length of the USA. Now a mum, I look for ways to adventure as a family.” Discover Bex’s family adventuring secrets on page 68.  GEMMA BARNES An author, astrologer and home-educating mum-of-two, Gemma is based in Dorset. “We have so much adventure right on our doorstep. From cliff top rambles or our regular mini-beast hunt where we often see lizards, beetles and all sorts of birds. Experiencing nature every day, ignites a child-like sense of exploration in me – making my heart burst. Watching these experiences through my children’s eyes, adds another layer of magic and continually brings new perspectives and opportunities to discover.” Read about the importance of trust in the family’s home education adventure on page 82.
