Contributors Kim Beazley served as Ambassador of Australia to the United States between 2010 and 2016. A former defence minister, he is currently chair of the Perth USAsia Centre. James Curran is professor of Modern History at Sydney University and a foreign affairs columnist for the Australian Financial Review. David Heslop is an associate professor at the University of New South Wales and an expert on chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear medicine. Joe Hockey is a former federal treasurer and served as Ambassador of Australia to the United States between 2016 and 2020. Joel Keep is a 2024 Biodefense Fellow at the Council on Strategic Risks and a PhD candidate at the University of New South Wales. Richard McGregor is a senior fellow at the Lowy Institute and worked in China for The Australian and the Financial Times. Richard Pomfret is professor of economics emeritus at the University of Adelaide and an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University. Emma Shortis is the director of the International & Security Affairs Program at The Australia Institute. Arthur Sinodinos is a former federal senator and cabinet minister, and served as Ambassador of Australia to the United States between 2020 and 2023. Susan Stone is Credit Union SA chair of economics at UniSA. Thom Woodroofe is a senior international fellow with the Smart Energy Council, and a senior adviser at Kaya Partners.
