Ida Haendel
Ida Haendel first studied in the Conservatorium in Warsaw, and won the Gold Medal at the age of ten. When war came, she had played in Poland, France, Holland, Belgium and Scandinavia, as well as in England. But for the war, she would have made as great a name in America as she has here - as one of the most brililiant violinists of the day.
