Dizzy Exhibit J m HERO AND bandleader Dizzy Gillespie recently donated h King Silver Flair trumpet to TI., Smithsonian National Museum of American history. The instr~ m a t , which he used constantly from 1972, became part of the museum's growing jazz collection. The highly individual trump was intricately hand-engraved it,

1972 by Robert Morgan of Ohio. The jazz collection at the museui preserves jazz material for posteriry, and has promoted concerts and released recordings of these - 01 by Dizzy himself, in k t . The museum is located at 14th and Constitution Avenue, Washington DC and is open to the public for lectures, concerts and other pmgcammes.
