OVER TO YOU... Tell us your thoughts and share your photos – we love to hear from you YOU’VE BEEN TELLING US... STAR LETTER SURPRISE GUEST Struck down with a chest infection, I was overjoyed to cosy up with your December issue. My smile broadened when I turned to The Christmas I’ll Never Forget. We had Christmas Day 2007 planned as our last without kids. With the baby due in January, my husband had promised to cook. We were shocked when I went into labour in the early hours of Christmas Day. Our beautiful baby boy was born at 6.29pm. I ended up having a dry ham sandwich for my Christmas dinner; my husband had a three-course meal, plated up by our lovely neighbours. I’ve made up for it every year since – and my husband still hasn’t done the cooking! TRACEY DENNY, Hereford AN ALTERNATIVE CHRISTMAS I was diagnosed with coeliac disease eight years ago. Sainsbury’s magazine plays a big role in my diet – I buy it every month and adapt recipes to suit my dietary requirements. My family often don’t even realise they’re eating gluten-free! I was overwhelmed to find the December issue full of fantastic glutenfree alternatives, all of which will feature in our home this Christmas. I can’t thank you enough! I’ve already pointed other coeliacs your way; with such lovely recipes and ideas, you have made us very happy! ALISON PALMER, via email We’re so pleased that you enjoy the magazine – look out for our gluten-free taste test in the March issue. THINK LOCAL I just wanted to let you know what a great meal I had at the ASK Italian Sainsbury’s magazine Supper Club in Stevenage Old Town last night. The waiting staff were excellent, the zuppa di aragosta (lobster soup) divine and the meal perfectly complemented by matching wines. We were even given a cookbook to take home. What a brilliant idea to hold these events locally, making them much more accessible – well done Sainsbury’s magazine. SHEILA PRICE, via email YOU’VE BEEN COOKING... CHOC HEAVEN Here’s a picture of the Mary Berry chocolate and amaretti bars I made from the December issue. As I write this, my friends are tucking in and, I must say, they’re very quiet – apart from the odd mumble of ‘mmm, scrummy’! VICKI HAYES, via email YOU’VE BEEN TWEETING...
