TRAVEL / CAMPING
Dome Garden, Forest of Dean
Stay in England’s biggest woodland, the Forest of Dean and settle down in one of eleven luxury domes. With en suites, wood fired showers or baths and each dome comfortably taking five (or even eight if you go for the Superdome) they are fantastic spaces for a family - quirky, inspiring and full of fun. The Dome Garden is all about reconnecting - finding time to relax, to read, to enjoy each other’s company and maybe spend some time around
3the fire, meeting others while you cook your food. If your children have more energy to run off there are rope swings, zip wires and even a secret tree house. We love their note about WiFi; there’s none on site and they say, “it's a simple but effective remedy to unplug your children from the virtual world so many of us inhabit”. domegarden.co.uk
SECRET MEADOWS, WOODBRIDGE, SUFFOLK
4
A complete mix of accommodation is available at Secret Meadows in Suffolk from luxury lodge tents to gypsy horse caravans and their latest addition, a Hobbit Box. Set in over a hundred acres of wildflower meadows, woodland and ancient trees this is a great place to really enjoy the countryside. The luxury tents sleep six and come with king sized wooden beds, sofas, dining tables and wood burning stoves while the beautiful gypsy caravans sleep four with beds, candle lighting and wool-
len blankets. The new Hobbit box is a luxury converted horse box sleeping four with handcrafted wooden furniture and a Middle Earth theme. For children there are bushcraft activities and opportunities to meet the animals and our favourite feature of this glamping site has to be that you can hire a chicken coop to have next to your accommodation to feed, look after and collect eggs from during your stay. Not only will glamping at Secret Meadows be a treat for the family but you will be helping out at the same time by supporting The Sinfield Nature Conservation Trust who run the site. secretmeadows.co.uk
