We put your questions to Tobyn Cleeves of Bell Tent UK. I want to know how to make camping more comfortable for my husband. Glamping is all about making camping more comfortable. Take a second duvet and put that under the fitted sheet. This insulates you from below. How can we help our toddlers get a full night’s sleep? Let them stay up for as much of the evening’s goings on so they hit the hay shattered and will hopefully sleep through longer. Also consider using a bit of black out material. Pick a spot for your tent that is in shadow from dawn as this makes a big difference. What’s the best way of keeping cool items cold during a glamping trip? “Ice, ice baby” and a couple of cool boxes. Try freezing cartons of juice to act as cool blocks. Leave bottles tied to the bank in a stream or river (Bramley Hedge style!). Where’s your favourite place to take your bell tent? Somewhere off the beaten track. You’ve be amazed how many farmers are still up for a bit of responsible camping on their land as long as you leave no trace and don’t mind roughing it a bit. See getonmyland.com.
