d l i t e Inca weavers, continuing their art under Spanish Colonial rule, have left a remarkable legacy.

Rare in its own time, this surviving example marks a pinnacle in craftsmanship. The textile displays the integration of indigenous sacred animal motifs, Hispano-Moresque design and the use of an eccentric interlocking weft technique unknown to European weavers at the time.
