Marius Kociejowski, poet, essayist and travel writer, lives in London where he works as an antiquarian bookseller. He has published four collections of poetry, Coast (Greville Press), Doctor Honoris Causa and Music’s Bride (both Anvil Press), and So Dance the Lords of Language: Poems 1975–2001 (Porcupine’s Quill). Most recently he has published Th e Street Philosopher and the Holy Fool: A Syrian Journey (Sutton Publishing, 2004), Th e Pigeon Wars of Damascus (Biblioasis, 2010), and an anthology, Syria through Writers’ Eyes (Eland, revised and enlarged edition, 2010). A collection of short prose, essays and feuilletons, Th e Pebble Chance, will be published by Biblioasis in 2014. He is currently working on a book as yet unclassifi able, Th e Journals of Arcangelo Riffi s.
