NOTHING IS WASTED
The Dutch artist Jan Eric Visser takes his concern for the natural environment to great lengths. TrashArt, a new exhibition at the GroundWork Gallery, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, focuses on sculptures he has made from waste material collected from riverbanks and other places. His work challenges ideas about what we discard.
Veronica Sekules, director of the newly opened gallery,
said: “In the industrial sphere, new artefacts created from waste products can produce value, which challenges existing habits and norms, and helps us to make the best and most economical use of limited resources. In the art world, the same kind of action is like alchemy, changing base material into something more precious.” TrashArt: 10 March–2 June www.groundworkgallery.com
