Welcome to the International Festival Guide 2018-19

Welcome to the International Festival Guide 2018-19

It’s that time of year again when we like to look ahead and plan what’s happening on the festival circuit around the world and hopefully provide you with some inspiration to explore music a bit further afield. This year’s guide is bigger than ever and chock-ablock with an incredible variety of festivals – from intimate gatherings in Scandinavia to multi-staged events on the shores of East Africa.

The guide is listed chronologically from the end of March 2018 through to March 2019 and we’ve colour coded the festivals according to their geographical location in order to make it easier to navigate (see key below). There’s a focus on festivals coded the festivals according to their geographical location in order to make it easier to navigate (see key below). There’s a focus on festivals renowned for their particularly unique locations (see p18) and a spotlight on some of the festival highlights in Africa (p8). Plus we highlight the various WOMADs that take place around the world (p24). We hope this guide will help you discover some new, unfamiliar festivals and, of course, encounter plenty of wonderful music.
