For readers of Cormac McCarthy and Justin Cronin, this is the story of one family’s battle for survival in a world where evil has already won.

As they fight their way across a dying land, Shay and Cass will do anything to keep their daughter, Hope, alive. The family faces unimaginable dangers as they try to stay together, and stay alive, long enough to reach safety. But when the heart of a dragon starts to beat in Hope’s chest, they fear they’ll lose her to a battle they can't possibly help her win . . .

BRANDON SANDERSON Mistborn: Secret History a superb companion novella set in the Mistborn world, by bestselling author brandon sanderson.

It contains spoilers for the Mistborn books: The Final Empire, The Well of Ascension, and The Hero of Ages. It also contains very minor spoilers for the book The Bands of Mourning.

Mistborn: Secret History builds upon the characterisation, events, and world-building of the original trilogy. Reading it without that background will be a confusing process at best.

Saying anything more here risks revealing too much. Even knowledge of this story’s existence is, in a way, a spoiler.

There’s always another secret.

brandon sanderson grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. He teaches creative writing at Brigham Young University and lives with his wife in Utah.
