Floral embroidery can be paintstaking and beautiful enough as it is but French artist Laurence Aguerre takes the art to a whole new level. Her floral sculptures and installations have the feeling of having been removed from the cloth and rendered into 3D life. Using naturally dyed cotton, silk and linen along with metal threads, glass and crystal beads to weave, embroider and shape her botanical pieces the results are incredibly intricate and time consuming to make. This year Laurence Aguerre’s Les Herbes Folles installation will be on show at Salon Aiguille en féte. A show for trade and public interested in all things textiles with both exhibitor stalls and exhibition spaces. As Guest Artist of the show Aguerre’s beautiful work is a must-see.
