Carnival funds scored after football matches

Chris Clowes, of Coerver Coaching and Vale Juniors recently presented a cheque for £828 to Congleton Carnival Committee, the proceeds of a football tournament held on Carnival Sunday this year.
Twelve local teams took part, with The Wharf beating Congleton Utd in the final on penalties. There was also a children’s tournament and a Congleton Vale v Congleton Rovers game.
Mr Clowes said: “It all went very well. The teams who entered made it a great success and we look forward to repeating it next time.”

Jointly hosted by Cheshire East Chamber with Congleton based Deaville and Co event management the event gave firms the chance to make new contacts and promote their products and services.
It was well attended and included Congleton and Sandbach MP Fiona Bruce.
The chamber’s David Watson said: “Speed networking is a great way for businesses to interact. Each delegate has two minutes to introduce thei company across the table and alternate until everyone has met. We were delighted that Fiona Bruce was in attendance.”
