Millennia of deforestation has reduced Scotland’s Caledonian Forest to just one per cent of its original range. But now a growing movement is working to re-establish Scotland’s natural heritage, with tree-planting projects springing up across the country, despite the fact that they will take centuries to reach completion, and in the face of vocal opposition.
