A blast from the past I finally got round to cooking your fantastic carrot cake cover recipe from April 2014. Please don’t think that I am actually five years behind you all, but I have discovered over the years that I can always find inspiration in your magazines and I like to revisit past recipes. So this is a belated thank you for a terrific magazine that just gets better and better. It continues to evolve and this keeps it fresh, entertaining and educational. But what a treat, too – I realised long ago that past editions mature like a fine wine, so I enjoy my little dips of nostalgia and am always delighted by how relevant your pages still are. Holiday SOS I forgot to do the menu planning for our family holiday, so it was a blessing that I had taken your August magazine with the ‘Nadia to the rescue’ feature, because it really did rescue us.

We grabbed the ingredients on our way, and settled into a brilliant night of fun,

laughter and contented bellies.

New inspiration Since joining widowhood 18 months ago, my love of cooking was lost, too. I was making the same meals week in, week out, for myself and the children.
