The sights and delights of spring…

COLOUR IS ONE of the best things about stitching. There’s nothing like that wonderful sweet shop feeling when you look at a range of threads or sort your stranded co on colours for a new project. (We’re ignoring the mood felt when trying to distinguish five shades of green in poor light...) We do know some people who collect threads just to admire them!  Colour has strong associations, especially after such grey months. This issue we have a feast of colours all in one project. By popular demand, we have invited Emma Congdon to create another seasonal collection of swatches. We dare you not to smile when you see the way she has summed up the season on page 32. Will Tulip Pink or Bunny Brown catch your eye?

Talking of bunnies, it isn’t that long until Easter and hopefully some brighter days. Many of us still don’t send Easter cards but we think we should all put that right with at least one of the special designs we have on page 61. If you would like a more personal alternative, we have a whole alphabet of spring flowers on page 41.

Happy Stitching!
