as the ultimate expression of the Bronze Age absolutist state, a primitive form of government that used a crushing sense of order to allow the ruling family to turn all the resources of the nation to nothing other than their aggrandisement, and all done on the back-breaking labour of untold millions. It’s an allegorical tale also of other times and places and the monumental hubris and greed that drives so many rulers. It’ll be out in 2022. A lucky life The fact is that I have been extremely lucky to spend my life involved in what I find most interesting. Better by half that I am free to do as I please. I’ve been in the right place at the right time, though I also have made a lot of mistakes. But it does involve being prepared to make the effort when the opportunity is there.
