The soundboards in Schimmel’s grand models are also around 15 per cent larger than normal, making these instruments extremely powerful.
Pricing of the Konzert range starts at £16,380 for the K122 upright and £40,660 for the K175 grand. Their Classic counterparts cost £11,200 for the C116 upright and £31,250 for the C169 grand. All models are available in black, white and a variety of wood veneers.
TwinTone system Schimmel’s TwinTone silent system was unveiled in 2020 and can be fitted to any of its acoustic pianos. The mute function is engaged using the centre pedal, allowing the player to listen through headphones to sampled sounds of the Schimmel K230 concert grand or K122 upright. Additional sounds include electric piano and organ, along with effects such as reverb and chorus. The system offers an integrated recording function and multiple ports for connecting external devices.
