STUART & SONS
WHAT ARTISTS SAY ‘Playing a Stuart & Sons piano is a revelation. Their instruments provide unparalleled clarity and tone, and the only limit is your imagination’ Tanya Gabrielian (b 1983)
CURRENT INSTRUMENTS Acoustic pianos The Stuart & Sons range comprises four grand pianos. A 108-key Beleura Studio measuring 220cm in length has recently been unveiled to join its bigger sibling. The resonance of these instruments is heightened by the use of special agraffes that hold the strings on the bridge, rather than fixing them to the metal plate near the tuning pins. This positioning also obviates the downbearing forces that occur in a traditional pinned bridge system. According to the company website, Stuart’s design ‘encourages the strings to vibrate in a more controlled www.international-piano.com

manner, improving the dynamic range, increasing sustain and significantly improving tonal clarity’.
All Stuart & Sons pianos feature four pedals, including a ‘dulce’ soft pedal that moves the hammers closer to the strings for musical passages requiring lighter colouration. The price of each custom-made Stuart & Sons piano is quoted according to individual requirements. Their instruments include a five-year warranty. IP
