Ever the showman, De Laurentiis entered a packed press conference alongside a tall, lean figure dressed in a replica home shirt with a lion mask covering his features. “I had to send Inler back to Udine because he didn’t sign the papers,” he told the reporters. The mystery big cat growled. Then came the big reveal as the mask was pulled back in true Scooby-Doo fashion. And, in true Scooby-Doo fashion, it was who everyone thought it was all along – Inler himself. “He was quite embarrassed,” said Inler’s agent Dino Lamberti. And it got worse for the new arrival: the next day, defender Salvatore Aronica welcomed him at training wearing a gorilla mask. Poor old Inler must be wondering what he’s let himself in for.
