NEW RESEARCH AND NEW DISCOVERIES The Irish Post-Medieval Archaeology Group (IPMAG) is pleased to announce that its annual conference is being held on 26 February 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this conference will take place online and is being scheduled as a one-day event only.The theme of the conference is 'New Research and New Discoveries'.Archaeologists are engaged with recording and studying social, economic and cultural phenomena which have shaped Irish society in recent centuries. Colonisation, religious schism, the ideology of improvement, industrialisation, famine, mass immigration, rebellion and revolution have left legacies in our material culture and landscape. Papers will address this year’s theme from the perspective of people, places, monuments, artefacts and material culture, theoretical approaches and policy frameworks.
