Granta magazine launches digital archive for institutions.

LONDON 10th May 2017

The world renowned literary magazine Granta has today announced the launch of a state-of-the-art digital archive featuring every issue of the historic 38 year old quarterly.

Granta has partnered with digital publishing experts Exact Editions to bring the archive project to life. With the archive launched, every article, story and issue of the famous magazine is available for institutions around the world to purchase as a comprehensive digital research tool. As such academics, students and researchers alike can instantly browse and search the archive for their favourite Nobel laureate, debut novelist or investigative journalist in one place.

Exact Editions’ digital platform for institutions ensures that every issue of the archive is covered by the advanced search functionality. Users can search for terms in a page, issue, decade or even the complete archive, and across web, iOS and Android platforms. Each page of every issue appears in digital as it would in print so the archive looks just as good on an iPad or via the Exact Editions website as it did when first published in print.

An institutional digital subscription ensures that any school, university, business or other subscribing institution can offer their users unlimited, IP authenticated access to the Granta digital archive. Access for users is unlimited so that they can read, download, and search the comprehensive collection of over 100 issues of the Granta archive, as well as each new issue of the magazine.

Granta is available in the Exact Editions institutional shop here:

Granta Online Editor Luke Neima said of the archive launch:

“Today is an exciting day in the history of Granta, as we launch our archive for institutional use. Students and academics can now browse our complete archive at the touch of a button, and revisit all our articles as they originally appeared. We think that is truly marvellous."

Daryl Rayner, Managing Director of Exact Editions said:

“We are delighted to have worked with Granta to develop their digital archive. The magazine looks fantastic on an iPad, while having over 100 issues instantly available is an invaluable resource for institutions wishing to subscribe."
