Red Pepper Completes Digital Archive Back To 1994
Red Pepper, a magazine of left politics and culture, has completed its digital archive on the Exact Editions platform, stretching back to 1994 and including over 240 issues. The latest issues and archive, neatly organised into stacks of decades and years, can now be accessed by individual and institutional subscribers across web, iOS, and Android devices.
Published four times a year, Red Pepper is a socialist publication drawing on feminist, green and anti-racist politics. Its aim is to be a space for debate on the left, a resource for movements for social justice, and a home for open-minded anti-capitalists. The added back issues contain regular articles by Harold Pinter, an interview with Chuck D, and an essay by Gabriel García Márquez, to name a few editorial highlights. Red Pepper will be celebrating its 30th anniversary next year.
Readers benefit from the advanced search function, allowing them to search for specific keywords across the whole archive, decade, year, or issue. Whilst institutions are provided with usage reports, MARC Records, KBART data and customer support.
Red Pepper is available in the Exact Editions shops here:
Founding Editor of Red Pepper, Hilary Wainwright, said: "The archive offers us an incredible opportunity to learn from international and historical experience, and to trace the legacies of social movements from the grassroots up."
Commissioning Editor of Red Pepper, Siobhán McGuirk, commented: “Only when I became an editor did I realise that our first 134 issues existed only in print. We’re delighted to now offer our readers and institutions worldwide fully searchable digital access to a treasure trove of radical ideas.”
Managing Director of Exact Editions, Daryl Rayner, said: “The newly completed archive of Red Pepper contains a rich wealth of content, an excellent resource for subscribers, students, and academics alike.”
