The Philosopher Launches Digital Archive
The Philosopher, the official journal of the Philosophical Society of England, has partnered with digital publishing experts Exact Editions to create a brand new cutting-edge digital archive. Every page, feature and article is now fully-searchable and available for seamless cross-platform browsing on web, iOS and Android devices.
First founded in 1923, The Philosopher is built around the belief that anything can be made clear to the interested reader. Articles are considered without discrimination as to subject matter or author; the only criteria being that they must be philosophical in method and expressed in clear, understandable language. Its pages have hosted many famous contributors over the years, including John Dewey, G. K. Chesterton and Mary Midgley.
The fascinating content of the 17-issue strong archive, that will grow with each new issue released, will ensure that subscriptions to the title are an indispensable product for both individuals and the international academic market.
The Philosopher is available in the Exact Editions institutional and individual shops here:
Editor Anthony Morgan said: “We’re delighted with the innovative archive, in which the visual element of the publication is beautifully presented across all platforms. We are looking forward to expanding the digital product into institutions around the world.”
Managing Director of Exact Editions, Daryl Rayner, commented: “The Philosopher has a long and culturally important history, making it an ideal candidate for the Exact Editions platform. I have no doubt that it will serve as an excellent and extensive resource to philosophy students, professionals and enthusiasts.”
