The Wire archive goes digital

LONDON 10th June 2013

The complete 31 year digital archive of the monthly, underground music magazine The Wire, is now available to subscribers of the magazine. The archive is available on the web, as well as on the move with iOS and Android apps.

Subscribers to the magazine will be able to access every back issue since the first issue was published in the summer of 1982. This is a unique resource with over 350 issues and 25,000 pages of underground music history, now available at the touch of a button or swipe of a finger.

The Wire has worked with Exact Editions to produce this valuable resource. From 10 June all subscribers will be able to search and save results from every issue. The iPad app also enables easy sharing of articles via social media. As print subscribers are all entitled to complementary digital access, the entire magazine with every back issue is accessible and shareable by the whole Wire community.

Daryl Rayner, Managing Director of Exact Editions said about the archive release: " The archive is an incredibly exciting project, which promises to be a deep resource for music lovers, as well as providing great value to the subscriber."

Tony Herrington , Editor-in-Chief of The Wire said about the archive release: " We're very pleased to be able to offer this amazing feature to our subscribers. It's also fascinating to see how the magazine has changed over the years while maintaining its focus on the most intense and innovative developments in music."
